About us
At Porugami we envision to create one of a kind, wearable art. From the silk-screen production of the paper, to the crafting of our Origami earrings, every single step is made completely by hand. Our creations are inspired by traditional Japanese culture and seamlessly blend the art of origami with contemporary design to create elegant & sophisticated jewellery.
Porugami was founded in Flensburg, Germany, with the goal to turn the fascinating paper folding tradition into wearable art. As a young start-up we stand for innovation and creativity.
The Founder
Paul Bringmann, the visionary behind Porugami, brings a unique blend of cultural influences and artistic passion to every creation. Born to Italian and German parents, Paul’s multicultural upbringing sparked a deep appreciation for diverse traditions and styles. From an early age, he developed a fascination with Japanese culture—a fascination that would shape both his life and his creative pursuits.
During his time living in Tokyo, Paul immersed himself in Japan’s vibrant blend of modernity and tradition, finding inspiration in everything from the intricate art of origami to the elegance of Japanese fashion. This transformative experience led him to create Porugami, a brand dedicated to infusing European fashion with the grace and innovation of Japanese style.
With a passion for arts, design, and fashion, and a curiosity about Japanese language, culture, and society, Paul envisions Porugami as more than just a brand—it’s a bridge between worlds. His mission is to introduce the beauty of Japanese aesthetics, both modern and traditional, to the West, offering a fresh perspective on elegance and creativity.
Through Porugami’s signature origami earrings, Paul invites you to explore the harmony of East and West, blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design.
